Volunteer Info
2015 Blue Mountains Music Festival – the 20th!
This year all festival volunteers will be coordinated by Katoomba Public School P&C. Together with the festival directors we aim to run another smooth and enjoyable festival. We hope all festival patrons have a great time, including you. Please be helpful and friendly to all including ticket holders, performers, stage crew, and fellow volunteers.
Volunteers will be expected to work 10 hours often in 3 shifts. Please try to arrive ten minutes early at your rostered site for all shifts.
On your first Shift: Please arrive 20 minutes before your first shift and register at the Volunteer marquee (look for signs). You will receive your wristband, name badge, Tshirt, confirm roster and sign on. The volunteers marquee will be staffed most of the time and you are able to leave your bags there with all care but no responsibility.
If you cannot make your shift for any reason, or are running late, please notify us as soon as possible, contact the Volunteer Coordinator, Imelda Eames 0435 055 815.
You will receive detailed information for your duties when your shifts are confirmed and at the volunteers briefing before the festival – date to be confirmed. We hope to see you all at the volunteers party after the festival where we all get to let our hair down.
How you can be involved
MC and Stage Managers: Experience required – your email will be directed to Francesca Sidoti and you will be contacted by her.
Volunteers at venue Entries and Exits: You are the first point of contact for the festival. Please make people feel welcome while checking wrist bands. This year the Festival has hired professional Security guards (Lurline St and Box Office entry) to check bags for alcohol and they will handle any abusive or confrontational behaviour.
Waste and Recycling: The Rubbish Room concept was a huge success in 2014 and is coordinated by the Sustainability Team from Katoomba North Public School P&C - the school benefits financially by their involvement.
Bar Staff: KPS P&C operates the bars on Katoomba Public School – The Boho Bar on the oval and The Badlands in the school courtyard. We need RSA qualified staff and others to help with bar restocking. Experience not necessary! Patrons love these groovy spaces with the warm welcome from the Blue Mountains community (and their outfits!) Proceeds from the bars directly benefit local schools - Boho Bar to Katoomba Public School and Badlands Bar to Katoomba High School.
Car Parking: Attendees required to staff the Waratah St gate and manage the limited parking for those with a disabled permit, performers, and festival staff operations staff.
Thanks for your participation!
The festival relies on our cheerful, responsible volunteer crew.
Have a fun filled festival and enjoy the music!
