Wagana Aboriginal Dancers
Under the guidance of Wiradjuri Dancer and Choreographer Jo Clancy, Wagana is a collective of First Nations people living in Dharug, Gundungurra and Wiradjuri Country who practice traditional and contemporary dance, song and fibre arts.
Wagana have been gathering to dance, sing, weave, eat and make fire since 2007.
Some of Wagana’s performances include Commonwealth Youth Dance Festival Glasgow (2014), Dance and the Child in Copenhagen Denmark (2016), Commonwealth Games Art and Cultural Festival (2018), Telstra Uluru Statement from the Heart commitment in Sydney (2022) and most recently Wagana opened the 2024 Indigenous runway for Australian Fashion Week.
